2024 XY Crew Jamboree – August 2-7, South-West Michigan

Featured

Paul Elam has decided not to host an XY Crew Jamboree in Budapest, but to host one instead in South-West Michigan, details here. He writes:

“If you’re interested in attending, or if you have questions, please let me know soon at paul@paulelam.com We plan to have the total number of attendees in place and fixed by 06/01/24.”

06/01/24 is, of course, 1 June, 2024. I regret I won’t be able to attend, having other commitments at that time.

[Update 18.5: There will not be an XY Crew Jamboree in Budapest, one will be held in the United States over 2-7 August, 2024, details here.]

We are disappointed to report that sales of tickets have been insufficient to persuade us that the event would be self-funding, so the in-person event has been cancelled. However, we have some positive things to report:

  • The event will now be ‘online’ and consist of the publication of talks by the speakers on our YouTube channel. Previous ICMI talk playlists here.
  • The legendary Paul Elam, the man who launched the ICMI series with an event near Detroit in 2014 and the man behind the XY Crew initiative, MAY be flying to Budapest to host the “XY Crew Jamboree, Budapest”. To attend, you’ll need to enrol as a member of XY Crew – membership is strictly limited to men – details here. Having attended a former XY Crew Jamboree (in the United States) I know you’ll be assured of a great time with some terrific red-pilled men.

I shall be contacting the ticket buyers shortly to offer refunds.

As with most of the previous in-person ICMIs, a crowdfunder was used to cover the costs associated with video recording and editing of the talks. The ICMI24 crowdfunding page is here. If you donated to it, we hope you’ll be prepared for your money to be retained to fund videos at future in-person ICMIs. But if you’d prefer a full or partial refund of your donation(s) please contact Tom Caulfield (aka Anthony Corniche) – the video maker from previous ICMIs since 2016 – at tom@tokkelossi.com.

This isn’t the end of ICMIs, but we shall consider how they might need to change, going forward. Next year’s event will be hosted by Rob Brockway in Sydney, Australia, the 2026 event in the United States (details to follow in due course). I shall be hosting one in 2027.

Have a good week, and thanks for your support.

Budapest conference.

[Update, 14 April: Ticket sales are on hold pending an announcement shortly – by 26 April at the latest, as previously advised – on whether the conference will go ahead as planned.]

A promotional video (17:01) was published on 12 March 2024, featuring Mike Buchanan (conference host and co-MC), Paul Elam (co-MC) and Janice Fiamengo (keynote speaker).

This conference is being held 10 years after the first in the series in 2014, held near Detroit and hosted by Paul Elam, the founder of A Voice for Men and An Ear for Men.

We have an outstanding selection of speakers and a Guest of Honour, Matt Goodwin, a British professor of politics. As well as the talks, attendees can also be sure of enjoying the socialising which is such an important ingredient in making these conferences the successes they always are. It has been said that attending an ICMI is the best investment a man can make in this male-hostile world to improve his mental health.

We strongly urge you to order your ticket(s) no later than 12 April, 2024. We need to be confident we’ll sell enough tickets to make the conference financially viable. We urge people to order tickets as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment if and when tickets sell out (as they have for almost all ICMIs).

The decision to proceed (or not) with the conference will be taken no later than 26 April, and revealed in a new blog piece on this website. Ticket buyers and other attendees will be informed by email. If the conference is cancelled, ticket buyers will receive a full refund.

It is important that you don’t make financial commitments to travel or accommodation before we’ve confirmed the conference will go ahead.

Please send any queries to Mike Buchanan (mike@j4mb.org.uk).
